Anyone who even remotely befriends me usually knows I collect way too much Simpsons merchandise, and the Onion AV Club has a great article this week on the Strangest Simpsons stuff out there.

Cartoon Network’s animated series Aqua Teen Hunger Force will be the first original show of the channel’s late-night Adult Swim programming block to be turned into a feature film, Variety reported. The 86-minute film was written, produced and directed by co-creators Matt Maiellaro and Dave Willis.

The film centers on the origins of Hunger Force characters Meatwad, Frylock and Master Shake and an immortal piece of exercise equipment threatening the balance of galactic peace, the trade paper reported. “It was too big a story to do in 11 minutes,” Willis told Variety. “It’s based on our fear of exercise equipment.”

Maiellaro and Willis will be voicing several parts each, and several members of the TV cast will be reprising their roles. The film also features cameo voices provided by Bruce Campbell and Neil Peart of the band Rush. It is set for a March release date in 800 theaters.

Boing Boing’s Digital Emporium is selling a flash based John K cartoon on its site for just one buck. I’ve actually seen it before years ago and I definitely think its worth the small fee.

I was surprised to see how little, if any, attention was paid to Metallica’s brief appearance on the show’s debut last Sunday night … I guess, like the band themselves, the appearance was more of a joke than anything else.

Adding to a long lineage of great musical artists to appear on The Simpsons, The White Stripes will be on the upcoming September 17th episode. This Simpsons season is the first one I can remember in a long time that actually began before Halloween, and I couldn’t be more delighted.

IGN talks with Ren & Stimpy creator Jon Kricfalusi about the brand new DVD release of the Lost Episodes. The new set includes the episodes recently produced for Spike TV,which in my opinion are completely insane and some of the craziest television shows I’ve witnessed.
